Our Lady of the Rosary Prayer Service

On October 7th, we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary with a Prayer Service.  Blessed Mary so loves the Rosary that She made three appearances to special people, holding a rosary in her hand.

Mary appeared first to St. Dominic, leaving him with the precious gift of the rosary in Spain. He taught people how to pray the rosary.

Mary’s second appearance was to St. Bernadette at Lourdes in France. There she prayed the rosary with a young Bernadette. Many miracles takes place in Lourdes still today as people go to pray the rosary.

Mary’s third appearance occurred in Fatima, Portugal where she appeared to three shepherd children. She asked the children to remind people to pray the rosary.

This year, our third grade class led our service. Each student read a passage as they explained the four mysteries of the rosary, (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious) and how they show Jesus’ life through the eyes of Mary. We listened to the song, “Sing of Mary” and our closing song was “This Little Light of Mine”

Thank you, third grade and Ms. McKinley, for a beautiful service and all your hard work and research that went into the service
