Letter from the Principal
In today’s world of instant messaging and instant gratification, no one wants to wait for anything and nothing seems to last. Here we are, St. Cecilia School, proudly standing on the corners of 49th Street and Camden Avenue for 95 years. This is amazing! This is commitment and dedication! This is who we are! We are committed to the thousands of children who have and continue to walk through our doors. We are dedicated to spreading God’s love and providing an excellent education. We are proud! We are strong! We are St. Cecilia School.
These words “St. Cecilia School: Imagine the Possibilities” greet you as you enter our school. We believe that St. Cecilia School is the place for children to imagine the possibilities. The teachers, Staff, Catholic Partnership Schools Office, and I work together with our parents to help our children become all that God has created them to be and to help the children reach their fullest potential and greatest possibilities.
Our school community can be described as “The Beatitude Attitude School.” For over 95 years we have taken seriously our mission to nurture the personal, intellectual, and spiritual growth of our students. Our school offers children in grades K to 8 a strong foundation in our Catholic faith and in educational development. Our students’ program of study consists of five areas of core curriculum: Religion, Reading/Language Arts, Math Science, and Social Studies. Each curriculum area is based on Diocesan guidelines developed to meet the national and state academic standards. We offer an advanced Math program for our 7th and 8th graders and all grades participate in the First in Math enrichment program.
There is an importance to develop well-rounded students. At St. Cecilia School we do this by offering specialty classes in Music, Art, Library, Physical Education, Spanish, and Technology. Our students are well acquainted with the use of Smart boards and laptops in our classrooms to enhance instruction. We also help our students to become well-rounded individuals through our piano and violin lessons, choir, aviation and robotics clubs and through basketball and hockey.
St. Cecilia School has been accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools since 2000 and has successfully acquired re-accreditation during each eligible time period.
St. Cecilia School offers low tuition with high results. Tuition assistance is available for eligible families. We offer free and reduced breakfast, lunch, and snacks for eligible students. Before and After School programs with vouchers are also available for eligible students.
St. Cecilia School has a wonderful spirit of love, care, challenge, and possibilities. I invite you to come and experience the spirit of St. Cecilia and to imagine the possibilities for yourself. Please call for a tour of the school 856-662-0149.
Celebrate Jesus!
